The Hagley Museum and Library is a non-profit educational organization located in Wilmington, Delaware, in unincorporated New Castle County.
The land was referred to as Hagley in an 1813 document, and it had been known as Hagley since 1797, when its owner, Philadelphia Quaker merchant Rumford Dawes, requested for insurance on structures purported to be located in a place called Hagley on the Brandywine.
Members of the Lyttelton family, proprietors of Hagley Hall and its relatives, have only been buried in the churchyard since 1875, with the exception of two earlier exclusions; there are also the owners of other major houses and estates in the region, as well as their staff.
